Access to Finance/Training 

The Dominica Agricultural Industrial and Development Bank (DAIDB) is a government entity established to promote and influence economic development in the Commonwealth of Dominica and to mobilize funds for the purpose of such development. The bank offers various loans to entrepreneurs including “Start Up Stars” for young entrepreneurs, "WE Fund" for women in business and they also collaborate with the DYBT to provide funding to successful participants in its training programme- they can receive loans of up to XCD $20,000.00.

The National Development Foundation of Dominica (NDFD) is a non-government institution established to provide small business loans, technical assistance and training and overall business support to MSMEs.  Loans are offered for start-ups and established enterprises.

The Dominica Youth Business Trust (DYBT) is an initiative of the Commonwealth Youth Programme (CYP), the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica(GoCD), with support from the Organisation of American States (OAS) and the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB).

The organisation offers a compulsory 4-week Entrepreneurship Deveopment Programme (EDP) as well as a one-week Achievement Motivation Training (AMT).  Participants who already have a business also take part in the Small Business Assistance Facility training.  DYBT participants are also mentored by experts in various fields.

The Small Business Support Unit (SBSU) is a division within the Ministry of Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiatives.  The SBSU offers training and business development services as well as access to finance through its Small Business Grant Programme.

The Compete Caribbean Partnership Facility (CCPF) is a private sector development programme delivering innovative and practical solutions that stimulate economic growth, increase productivity and foster innovation and competitiveness, while promoting economic inclusion. 

Caribbean Export Development Agency (Carib Export) is the regional trade and investment promotion agency focused on building a resilient Caribbean by providing cutting-edge and high-impact support to the private sector. Businesses can benefit from Technical Assistance Programme and receive grants of up to $15,000 euros. 

Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is supporting the transition to a climate resilient and sustainable energy sector in the Eastern Caribbean States through a joint program with the Organisation of Eastern States (OECS).  The organisations are collaborating on strengthening green growth planning and increasing climate finance, especially in the energy sector. Green businesses are encouraged to apply to GGGI’s grant offerings as well as their incubator and accelerator programmes to further scale up their enterprises. 

The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) is an International Inter-governmental Organisation dedicated to regional integration in the Eastern Caribbean. Its eleven member states make up a single financial and economic space where goods, people and capital move freely and where monetary and governmental policies relating to taxes and revenue are harmonised. The organisation offers numerous training opportunities to entrepreneurs within the sub-Region. Business owners also benefit from trade show expositions, workshops and seminars and competitions with monetary and technical assistance prizes.
